Serving up delicious all-American recipes - like Mom used to make only better - has been both a tradition and a passion at Millie's Restaurant & Bakery for 25 years. Our chain of family-friendly restaurants is known for providing generous portions of traditional American dishes with a twist, in a warm and casual atmosphere, at a moderate price.

The Millie's success story began in 1982, when R&M Foods purchased 16 Alphy's restaurants from Denny's Inc. Inspired by the new owner's wife's country cooking, the restaurant offered traditional down-home favorites like Southern Fried Chicken to hungry patrons from Ventura to El Centro. The response was immediate and overwhelming, clearly surpassing the new owner's expectations and underscoring the demand for country-style menu favorites.

When the owner renamed the restaurants after his wife, he was still cooking up a storm along the Southern California coast. Millie's County Kitchen enjoyed a solid following among diners who loved the chain's special brand of hospitality, the energy and enthusiasm of its hard-working staff, and an extensive menu of those time-honored favorites known as "comfort" foods.
In May of 2000, John R. Bifone, president of Calabee's Inc., a franchisee of the Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurant chain, purchased Millie's. John brought more than 30 years of restaurant industry experience to the newly-named Millie's Restaurant & Bakery, including serving as senior vice president of franchising for Kentucky Fried Chicken, president of the Country Kitchen and Bojangles' chains, and chairman and chief executive officer of Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp.

With 13 stores located in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Imperial counties, Millie's Restaurant & Bakery is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Millie's lunch/dinner menu features comfort food classics like Old Fashioned Pot Roast, Fried Chicken and USDA Choice steaks. Millie’s Ranch-Style breakfasts include their famous extra large buttermilk Wagon Wheel pancakes.

Millie's Bottomless Tortilla Soup and Cream of Potato are longtime favorites served daily. Other hearty homemade soups are available on different days, ranging from Monday's Split Pea to Friday's New England Clam Chowder. All soups are served with fresh-baked cornbread.

Millie's Restaurant & Bakery continues to stand by its Corporate Mission of providing superior quality, abundantly portioned American food at a reasonable price in a comfortable and convivial atmosphere.
